The Hunters FC on Saturday defeated Empty Land FC in a penalty shootout at the ongoing WAVE Knockout preliminary Rounds played at Serekunda West Sports Mini Stadium.
Hunters and Empty Land played a goalless match described as a tough game while they both lost many goal chances. The referee blew for a penalty shootout at the regulated match when none of the team was able to hit through the goalpost.
At the end of the penalty shootout, it was 5 to 4 goals in favour of the Hunters FC.
Hamza Badjie, the head coach of Hunters thanked God for his team’s victory over the opponent team saying his team was expecting a win.
He congratulated the two teams, especially the winner of the game for the hard work put towards the game saying “The game was not easy,” while adding that Empty Land is a big team with good players.
Sulayman Faal the official member of Empty Land said the game was very tough on them though they thought it would be easier than it was, but it is a lucky to winner of the game.
