Bissau Guinean Accepts Criminal Responsibility for Aggravated Drug Trafficking

A Bissau Guinean Oquica Vaz Monteiro,who is also a Portuguese passport holder,on Tuesday accepted criminal responsibility for trafficking and dealing in 45 pellets of cocaine.

Monte was arraigned before magistrate I.O Njie of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on two-count charges of aggravated drug trafficking and dealing in prohibited drug contrary to Section 43 A(1) of the Drug Control (Amendment) Act (2010).

He admitted culpability for been found with 500g grams of cocaine at the Banjul International Airport on 3 October 2024.

Consequently, magistrate Njie issued an order for his remand at the State Central Prison till November, 6th when the case will resume for the narration of the facts by prosecutor N. Jammeh.
