Maka Farafenni Village Development Committee (VDC) has received a new tractor from the Gambia Inclusive and Resilient Agricultural Value Chain Project (GIRAV), a World Bank and Government of the Gambia project.
Alh. Modou Touray, Vice chairman of Gambia National Farmers Aggregators Cooperative Credit Union also a renowned farmer described the newly received tractor through the GIRAV project grant as important.
He made this remark during an interview with this reporter in Maka Farafenni in Upper Badibou, North Bank Region.
He noted that the tractor would contribute to the fast delivery of foodstuff to schools within six clusters from Kerewan to NgainSanjal clusters.
Mr. Touray thanked the Gambia Agriculture Food Security Project (GAFSP) for supporting smallholder farmers with improved high-yielding cowpeas, maize and groundnuts to mitigate the effect of climate change.
