Alleged Shooter of PIU Officers to Enter Defense

The prime suspect in the fatal shooting of paramilitary officers at the Sukuta Traffic Lights last year, Ousainou Bojang, who was accused of causing the death of police constables Pateh Jallow and Sang J. Gomez and causing serious injuries to one Constable Ancy Jawo is expected to give his defense before Justice Ebrima Jaiteh of Banjul High Court.

Ousainou Bojang, standing trial on the charge of murder, was on 21 September 2023, dragged to the court alongside his alleged conspirator Amie Bojang, who was charged with a single count of accessory to murder contrary to Section 202 of the Criminal Code, Cap 10:01, Volume 3, Laws of The Gambia 2009.

Ousainou is expected to enter defense on 15 November 2024, following the testimonies of 13 prosecution witnesses.

Meanwhile, the case was called on Monday for Ousainou to give his defense but his counsel Lamin J. Darboe presented someone else to testify as the first defense witness (DW1).
