B.K. Central FC, defeated Hunters FC by 2-1 in the Africell-Sponsored summer Nawattan league round of 16 at Serekunda West Sports Complex on Sunday.
Muhammed Lowe put B.K. Central FC in the lead after 11 minutes and doubled his tally in the 73 minutes, strengthening their lead and eventually giving his side a successful win to secure a quarterfinal spot.
Lamin Jarra reduced the deficit for Hunters FC in the 80 minutes and that was not enough to stop B.K Central.
However, Hunters FC pushed to restore parity, but B.K. Central was determined to protect their lead.
Ebrima Touray, head coach of B.K. Central FC, expressed joy about the outcome of the match.
“We were faced with challenges from the beginning of the group stage and the team has reached a level where they never reached. The boys are working very hard at the training and this is what they have manifested during the game,” he added.
He calls for patience, respect, and hard work as they are key drivers to players’ successful careers.
Hamza Badjie, head coach of Hunters FC, refused to grant an interview, citing an uncomfortable mood.
