By: Binta Jaiteh

The Coalition of Progressive Gambians (CoPG) will today descend down the streets to protest the delay in the passing of the 2020 CRC draft constitution in its original form.

The Office of the IGP has okayed the request made by the coalition for a permit to stage the peaceful protest.

The civil society group has been given the permit to hold their protest, commencing from 11:00hrs to 13:00hrs.

“The protest will begin at Bond Road Junction (Opposite Jah Oil) to the first gate of the National Assembly (Opposite the Christian Cemetery),” sources said.

The CoPG is expected to deliver a petition to representatives of the National Assembly and Ministry of Justice during the protest.

The group is also expected to hold a press briefing.
