By Penda Joof

Babun Fatty FC defeated Unicorns FC by 2 goals to nil to book a quarter-final spot in the ongoing Africell-Sponsored Serekunda West Sports Development Association’s summer Nawattan on Tuesday.

The result gave Babun Fatty FC a place in the quarter-final stages of the league.

Bilal Jarju scored in the 20 minutes and Abdoulie Kujabi drew the curtains for Babun Fatty FC with a 42nd-minute goal.

Unicorns FC created many goalscoring chances searching for an equalizer, but a steady Babun Fatty FC defense denied them from scoring.

Abdoulie Badjie, Babun Fatty FC’s head coach, said it was a very good and well-prepared game for them.

“It’s a derby game, which is never easy, but the boys have done well. They defended the runs and gave out everything they had to. They played without giving up. It was an excellent performance,” he stated in an interview after the victory.

He added that after scoring two goals, their hunger for the game drastically reduced, urging his players to stay focused and keep up the discipline.

Sheriffo Darboe, coach of Unicorns FC, sends his congratulatory message to Babun Fatty FC.

“Babun Fatty deserves the victory because they are the ones who played better. After going down by two goals in the first half, it was difficult for us to equalise,” he said during a post-match interview.
