GPLP Challenges PASTEF Gambia to Clarify Intentions

Ousman Jallow, the founder of the Gambia People’s Liberation Party (GPLP), has called on the leader of PASTEF Gambia, a new political movement in the country to clarify their intentions and demonstrate commitment to true Gambian values.

He enjoined Gambians to ensure that their votes reflect their dedication to the nation and its bright future rather than being clouded with misleading rhetoric.

‘’We must remain vigilant and discerning. A misplaced vote could steer us toward poor arrangements and support for the wastage of national funds. The very name ‘PASTEF’ implies a lack of political direction, shaking our faith in their ability to lead our beloved country. We must critically assess the political landscape and ensure that our nation’s identity is not muddled with that of others,’’ Mr Jallow stated in an article shared with The Voice yesterday.

He reminded Gambians of the painful history associated with PASTEF in Senegal, urging them to consider the sacrifices made and the chaos that ensued during their political struggles.

“They can’t keep all their promises. These are not merely statistics; they are a call to action for every Gambian who values peace, stability, and progress. How many lives were lost? How many businesses were harmed?” he stated.

Jallow articulated his vision for a united and resilient Gambia, emphasizing the richness of its identity.

“True leaders are as rare as precious gems amidst the many who claim to serve us. As we face challenges from our neighbors, let us stand firm in our sovereignty, valuing our Gambian Dalasi, and protecting our nation’s integrity instead of been influenced to go for the ‘’Colony French Africa’’ (CFA), which indicated the aims of PASTEF Gambia,’’ he added.

He maintained that politicians abound yet only a few truly represent the aspirations of the people.

‘’Let us rally together, believing wholeheartedly in our Gambia. The year 2026 approaches, and with it comes the opportunity for renewal and growth. Let us not lose sight of who we are for our strength lies in our unity and unwavering commitment to our beloved nation,” stressed Jallow.
