Blackpool FC Narrowly Edges Tababi FC

Captain Abdoulie Jallow’s early goal was enough for Blackpool to sail through to the next phase in the ongoing wave-sponsored knockout at Serekunda West mini stadium on Monday, November 11, 2024.

Jallow scored a stunning free-kick in the eighth minute to give Blackpool the lead. Tababi FC applied pressure in search of an equalizer, but to no avail, and the game was decided by that lone goal.

Abdou Jallow, the assistant coach of Blackpool FC, said they bring an all-attack mentality to the match because they are convinced that if they follow that plan, they will succeed.

“We even come to score in the first half and cool down the tempo of the game until the end to avoid a penalty shootout. This is exactly what happened,’’ he stated

Alpha Bah, head coach of Tababi FC, said his boys were not focusing at the start, but later gelled but it didn’t work for them.

“The players were trying to implement the game plans, and create many chances but unfortunately, we couldn’t score and eventually we lost the game. This is football we have to accept it and wait for next year because we are eliminated from both the league and the knockout,’’ Bah told The Voice.
