A certain Malick Beyai appeared before Magistrate A. Fofana of Brikama Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday to answercharges of house-breaking and stealing.
According to the particulars of the offense, Malick on or about 1 November 2024, at Brikama Jalanbang, West Coast Region, unlawfully broke into the house of Ebrima Ndowwith intent to commit a felony therein-to wit- stealing.
The prosecution alleged on count two that Malick on or about 1 November 2024, at Brikama Jalanbang, West Coast Region, stole a router valued at D3,700.00, an electrical kettle valued at D3,500.00, an electrical heater valued at D1,700.00, two packets of window curtain valued at D3,400.00, table cloth valued at D2,500.00, two packets of shirts valued at D7,000.00, four packets of sunglass valued at D3,000.00, electrical cable valued at D6,000.00, three bottles of body spray valued at D1,500, two female dresses valued at D4,000.00 and WiFi camera valued at D3,700.
The items were valued at D38,000.00.
Malick pleaded guilty on the count house-breaking but denied the count of stealing.
Prosecutor Jallow, who represented the Inspector General of Police in the matter, did not object to bail for the accused but applied for an adjournment for the narration of the facts ofcount one and to secure his witness to testify on count two.
Magistrate A. Fofana, in his ruling, granted the application and adjourned the matter to 3 December 2024.
Malick was granted bail in the sum of D40, 000.00 with two Gambian sureties, who shall deposit their valid Gambian ID cards or passports to the court’s registrar.
