As President Adama Barrow is scheduled to kick-start his nationwide ‘Meet the People Tour’ today, regional authorities and stakeholders in the North Bank Region have finalized all necessary arrangements to welcome President Adama Barrow and his delegation.
The tour will allow farmers to share with the president and his delegation the outcomes of this farming season.
Dembo Samateh, deputy governor of North Bank region, described Meet the People Tour as important, noting that it will provide an opportunity for the population to interface with the president, regarding the impact of government projects and to share their challenges.
Samateh revealed in an interview with The Voice that thepresident and delegation will visit the new police stationcurrently under construction in Essau, the 85km Hakalangroad as well as hold meetings at Bantanding Wollof in Jokadou and Kerr Ardo in Lower Badibou. The president and ontourage, he went on, will also pay visits to road construction sites in Banni via Salikene to Njaba Kunda and the new state-of-the-art immigration station at Kerr Ali. The visit, he explained, will culminate in meetings at Ngain Sanjaland at the MRCG Holland Senior School.
“The unprecedented development projects initiated by this administration such as the Hakalang and other roads andelectricity expansion to rural communities, stable electricity supply, support to security and agricultural development contributed in transforming lives and livelihoods,” Samatehenthused.
He emphasized that North Bank is well-prepared to welcome the president and his delegation and thanked all those whosupported the governor’s office towards this direction.
For his part, the Chief of Lower Niumi, George L. Sonko, described the construction of the new police station at Essau as another milestone, saying it will enhance democratic policing and the working environment.
