Unicorns FC booked a place in the semi-final stages following a win over Anfield FC from the post-match penalty shootouts in the ongoing Serekunda West Wave-sponsored knockout quarter final on Saturday 16th November, 2024.
Unicorns FC and Anfield FC played out a tough encounter as both sides were determined to score and equally protect their defence to not concede.
This strength and resilience shown by either side during the regulations sent the game to penalty shootouts from whichUnicorns FC emerged winner by 4-3.
Sheriff Darboe, the head coach of Unicorns, said his team had a deserved victory because his boys outperformed their opponents and created better goal scoring opportunities.
He encouraged his boys to continue working hard and fight until they reached the final so that they could celebrate something at the end of the season.
