The management of Ibrahim Islamic Education Centre and Quranic Memorization Center of Kinteh Kunda Janneh Ya of Lower Badibou in the North Bank Region, on Saturday, held a stakeholders meeting to discuss the challenges and seek resource mobilization techniques to sustain the school.

The meeting held in Kinteh Kunda Janneh Ya aimed at accelerating the teaching and learning of Islamic education among children.

However, the memorization center is a boarding school in which 60 students are enrolled and most of them are orphanages.

The current status of the masjid is not safe for children to memorize the holy Quran this has prompted the management to request rehabilitation or construction of a standard masjid/mosque to enhance learning and perform all prayers in a safe and sound environment.

Omar Darboe, Principal and Proprietor of the center thanked donor partners and the community for the advancement of the center over the years.

Commenting on the challenges, Principal Darboe said the center needs some financial support from individuals and charitable organizations to construct a mosque and staff quarter to enable students to focus more on the memorization of the Quran and provide space for teachers.

He disclosed that as part of working towards the attainment of sustainable management, the center established watermelon and groundnut farms to help support the day-to-day operation of the center.

According to him, the center has a funding deficit of over D500,000.00 and reiterated the need for organizations and institutions to come forward and support the center.

The principal appreciated their donors and the community of Kinteh Kunda Janneh Ya for their untiring efforts for the school.

Chief Fabala Fadia Kinteh of Lower Badibou thanked the Proprietor for his support in promoting the teaching of the Holy Quran. He used the moment to task school authority to inculcate good morale, values, and discipline in pursuance of Islamic education.
