Gibba Pleads With Gov’t to Investigate Escape from Mile II of Alleged Murderer of Gunjur Man

The councillor of Gunjur Ward, Momodou CharrehGibba, has pleaded with President Adama Barrow’s government to look into the escape of the alleged murderer of a Gunjur man from Mile Two.

Buba Drammeh allegedly shot dead a Gunjur man Buba Jammeh in 2019 in a dispute over land.

Drammeh was arrested, charged with murder and remanded at the state central prison but he reportedly escaped from custody.

However, the Gunjur councillor said in a statement that the people of Gunjur are awaiting justice in Buba Jammeh’s death. 

”We would like you and your government to immediately mount an inquiry into the release/escape of BUBA DRAMMEH from Mile 2 Central Prison,” councillor Gibba’s statement read.

Meanwhile, the Gunjur Ward councillor pleaded for a better mobile police station, stating that there are no functional vehicles in Sifoe, Gunjur, Sanyang, Tujereng, and Tanji police stations. He called on the Barrow government tourgently address this problem through the Office of the IGP.
