A certain Modou Badjie appeared before Magistrate I.O Njie of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday on charges of malicious injury to property.
Prosecutors alleged that Modou sometime in October of this year at Busumbala village, Kombo North, wilfully and unlawfully damaged/destroyed the house of one Muhammed Gory. The house was valued at D194,300.00.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Corporal A. Jatta, who represented the Inspector General of Police in the case, applied for adjournment to present her witnesses to the court and she raised no objection to a bail for the accused.
Magistrate Njie granted the prosecutor’s application and thenadjourned the case to Tuesday, 10th December, to enable the first prosecution witness to testify. Modou Badjie was meantime granted court bail in the sum of D22,000.00 with one Gambian surety, who shall depose to an affidavit of means, in the like sum.
