Alleged PIU Shooter Says Exposure of His Nude Videos Compelled Him Flee to Senegal

By: Nicholas Bass

The alleged shooter of three paramilitaries Ousainou Bojang told the Banjul High Court on Monday and Tuesday that his nude videos that were “exposed” by his white girlfriend compelled him to flee to Senegal.

In a marathon testimony before Justice Ebrima Jaiteh, Ousainou adduced that his nude videos that were said to be circulating on social media forced him to go into hiding in Casamance, stating that on arrival at a garage in Casamance, he converted D1,400 to CFA 12,500.

Bojang explained that when he explained his situation to the ”chef de garage” and asked him if there was a marabout nearby, who can help him out, the ”chef de garage” directed him to one Gambian marabout woman called Mama, who “is residing in a compound called Sanyang Kunda”. Bojang adduced that he paid fares in one of the vehicles taking Ziquinchorr passengers before he hired a motorcycle to Mama’s place, stating that when he reached her house, she asked him if he [Bojang] was part of the killing of PIU officers that happened in The Gambia.

According to Ousainou, when Mama consulted her idol with cowries, she then told him that there was an impending betrayal against him.

“She then told me, yes it’s true you are really in a betrayal,” he added.

Ousainou said Mama later accused him of setting fire to the country and trying to escape, adding that she told him that he was part of the people, who worked against president Barrow. He said that was the time Mama suddenly started shouting to draw public attention to an extent that he [Ousainou] did not understand what went wrong with her, despite informing her of the dispute between him and his girlfriend about the exposure of his nude videos. He further narrated that after his encounter with Mama, his pictures were posted on social media, stating that Senegalese police apprehended him at Mama’s house and then took him to a police station, where he was held before been handed over to the Gambian police.

Ousainou stated that the Gambian police started questioning him about the shooting of the PIU officers after they left Senegal, adding that one Inspector Bah and Sub-Inspector Jobe beat him at the Anti-Crime HQ in Banjulinding. He also said that police officer Abdoulie Sanneh, who appeared on behalf of the IGP, gave an order for him to be handcuffed and shackled at the Banjulinding Anti-Crime Center after facing an investigative panel of senior police officers.

According to Ousainou, the police officers transferred him from Yundum police station to Mile II after his first appearance before the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.
