Action Aid International the Gambia Juffureh Office in partnership with the Governor’s Office in Kerewan, North Bank Region, on Wednesday, organized a two-day Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) interface meeting.
The meeting was used by the TAC to share their activities report for 2023 and part of 2024 and was attended by over 50 institutions and NGOs within NBR.
Governor Lamin Saidykhan thanked Action Aid International The Gambia for their foresight. He said the interface meeting would greatly contribute, enhance collaboration, and promote social accountability among service providers and beneficiaries.
The Governor thanked the heads of institutions for their support during the recent Meet the People Tour by President Adama Barrow.
Nevertheless, he described the meeting as the cornerstone of regional governance, fostering dialogue and enabling them to align efforts to address the needs of the communities.
He disclosed that as part of the Government’s transformative initiative, a new digital clocking system for all government institutions has been introduced to enhance productivity and efficiency.
The system will not only promote punctuality and accountability but also strengthen the ability to monitor staff performance he urged government staff to register on this system to ensure its smooth implementation.
Meanwhile, the governor hailed Action Aid International TheGambia for their unwavering commitment to advancing good governance and institutional efficiency in the region.
Saikou Darboe, Program Manager, Local Right Program 9 Action Aid Office in Juffureh underscored the commitment to working with the Technical Advisory Committee in promoting good governance, accountability and promote people center development.
He noted that the rationale for the interface between duty bearers and right holders would help to generate more information and enable communities to seek support.
The Program Manager Darboe disclosed that Action Aid will continue to support quarterly Technical Advisory Committee Interface Meetings in 2025 to ensure efficiency and productivity.
Sainabou Martin Sonko, Chief Executive Officer of KerewanArea Council described the convergence as important, noting that the outcomes would help to inform the council in preparation for the 2025 annual budget planning process to enhance service delivery within the Local Government Authority LGA.
