Court Sends Two Minors to Juvenile Wing, Adult Remanded At Mile II

Principal Magistrate Sallah M’bai of the KanifingMagistrates’ Court yesterday ordered the remand of two minors [name withheld] at the Juvenile Wing of the State Central Prison while an adult Saja Jallow be remanded at Mile ll.

Prosecution charged the trio with four counts, borderingconspiracy, house breaking and stealing.

According to the prosecution, Saja Jallow and the two minors on or about 26 November 2024, at Churchills Town, conspired amongst themselves to commit a felony- to wit-stealing.

The prosecution also alleged that the trio on or about 26November 2024, broke and entered into the Bureau De Change of one Fatou Jobe in Churchills Town with intent to commit a felony therein-to wit-stealing.

The also stand accused of stealing a Dell laptop valued at D8,000.00, a Sony laptop valued at D8,000.00, a rechargeable fan valued at D4,500.00, an electrical cooker valued at D400.00, a mobile phone of an unknown value from Fatou Jobe in Churchills Town on or about 26 November 2024. The items were valued at D20, 900.00. 

Saja and the two minors have been accused of stealing two play stations and four controllers from the shop of one Modou Lamin Choi. The items were valued at D4,000.00.

The matter was adjourned to Monday, 9th December, 2024.
