The Gambia Police Force has in its custody, one Alpha Omar Bah, a suspect, who is believed to have caused the death of his biological father, Samba Juma Bah, at Kerewan Badala, in the Upper River Region.
According to a statement released by The Gambia Police Force on Thursday, ‘’the Basse Police are investigating a tragic incident involving the death of a 60-year-old resident of Kerewan Badala in the URR. Preliminary findings revealed that the victim was assaulted by his 25-year-old biological son on Wednesday, December 4, 2024’’.
The GPF added that due to the grievous nature of the injury, the victim was evacuated to Basse Hospital, where he was hospitalized for medical attention. Reportedly, the victim succumbed to the fatal injuries in the early hours today at the Basse hospital.
‘’The suspect was arrested, and the murder weapon was recovered from the scene. He is currently in police custody, helping in the investigation,’’ the police revealed in its statement.
