GPF and IGP Touray Crowned Best in West Africa

In a moment of pride for The Gambia, the Gambia Police Force (GPF) and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Seedy Mukhtar Touray have been awarded the titles of Best National Police Force and Best IGP in West Africa for 2023/2024 at the 18th Security Watch Africa Awards. This recognition highlights their dedication to exemplary service and commitment to upholding the law.

The Security Watch Africa organization praised IGP Touray and the GPF for their outstanding performance, presenting them with the prestigious Golden Star Award for Exemplary National Service in West Africa. This accolade not only honors the hard work of the police force but also emphasizes the significant strides made in transforming the GPF into a model of professionalism and excellence under IGP Touray’s leadership.

Currently, IGP Touray is in Doha, Qatar, where he will officially receive these honors during the awards ceremony scheduled from December 10 to 12, 2024. This achievement serves as a proud testament to the progress of The Gambia’s law enforcement agencies and reinforces the importance of maintaining high standards in public service. The GPF’s recognition at this level marks a significant milestone in their ongoing efforts to ensure safety and security for all citizens.
