The Gambia Drug Law Enforcement Agency (DLEAG) on Tuesday arrested a Germany-based Gambian Alieu Njie with 10 packets of ecstasy tablets at the Banjul International Airport, reported the country’s anti-narcotics agency on Wednesday.
DLEAG said the 41-year-old Alieu Njie is a holder of Gambian passport and a German resident permit, reporting that the 10 packets ofthe ecstasy tablets amounted to 47,078 tablets.
The agency said Alieu travelled from Germanyto The Gambia by SN Brussels’ 233 flight from Brussels at 17:55 onwards, adding that he has been taken into custody as investigation continue.
