Kuntair Senior Secondary School of Jokadou last Saturday with the help of donors, presented three different donations to the School Board of Governors at a ceremony held at the school grounds in the North Bank Region. The educational donations include Science lab equipment worth D100,000 by the Jokadou Development Association, Momodoulamin Jobe Charitable Foundation of Kerr Jarga Jobe who donated 19 Desktop Computers, 12 Laptops, 10 Writing Desk and 1 Screen TV, and the Late Master Njundu Darboe Foundation who also donated 29 chairs, 2 wooden cupboards, 2 filling cabins, 5 dustbins, 5 office chairs and 1 sewing machine.
Alh. Omar Ndure Board Chairman of the school, thanked the donors for their unwavering support to the educational development of the school. He described the presentations by Jokadou Development Association and Momodoulamin Jobe Foundation as a testimony of supporting the school and taking ownership, noting that the board and the management of the school attach great importance to the attainment of quality teaching and learning.
The Board Chair paid tribute to the late Master NjunduDarboe for his untiring efforts in education and other community projects and reiterated the need for the foundation to consolidate the gain in providing humanitarian assistance.
Ansumana Sanneh Principal of the school expressed his thanks to the donors for their foresight, noting that it would enhance the teaching and learning of science subjects, expose students to computer skills, and above all contribute to the attainment of quality education. He noted that the support to the science department by the Jokadou Development Association will enable many students to take up science subjects and reduce the burden on the school administration.
Modtala Ceesay Regional Education Director for Region 3 hailed the donors for complementing the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in promoting teaching and learning. He calls on students to take learning seriously, noting that the support to the science lab by citizens of Jokadou demonstrated their commitment to the education sector.
Dembo Samateh Deputy Governor and Chief Alpha Mariam Khan of Jokadou expressed delight in the commitment of the school Principal to the attainment of quality teaching and learning, noting the school performance in WASCE has improved tremendously. The duo said the donation would add more value to the gain registered.
