Sukuta Week 2024 Kicks Off with Focus on Empowering Youth

The vibrant community of Sukuta is abuzz with excitement as the 6th edition of Sukuta Week kicked off, on Saturday, December 20, 2024. This year’s theme, “Empowering Children and Youth,” sets the tone for a week-long celebration dedicated to nurturing the potential of the younger generation.

“We urge youth, including children, to be actively involved in the development of our country,” stated Ahmed Cessay, highlighting the pivotal role of young people in shaping the future.

Kebba Omar Jaiteh, Chairman of Kombo Yuruwaa Kafo, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the importance of youth engagement in skills development.

Buba Cham, VDC Chairman, reiterated the VDC’s commitment to youth empowerment through the establishment of a youth center in Sukuta. Governor Ousman Bojang of Westcoast underscored the urgency of addressing youth challenges, stating, “Our youths are our future, and we must take action now to support their growth and development.”

Babucarr Sighateh extended gratitude for the support received and called on Sukuta youth to seize the opportunities presented during Sukuta Week. As the 6th edition unfolds, the community can look forward to a plethora of activities aimed at inspiring, educating, and empowering the next generation of leaders.
