The Gambia Immigration Department (GID) has announced the resumption of printing of the national identity card and resident permits.
“The Gambia Immigration Department wishes to inform the public that following the full resumption of operations at our document processing centres on December 9th, 2024, all applications approved from March 2024 to date have been printed,” the department announced in a presser on Thursday.
It added that Gambians and residents of The Gambia, whose applications were approved and awaiting printing, can now proceed to the respective processing centres where they were enrolled to pick up the printed cards with effect from Monday, 30th December 2024.
“Applicants are further advised to take along official receipts from the GID in respect of their applications to facilitate smooth delivery of cards,” the department advised.
The GID thanked the public for the patience and expressed appreciation for the support from the Ministry of Interior and stakeholders which, it said, culminated in resolving the situation.
