Matina’s Foundation Donates to Katchang Clinic

Matina’s Foundation donated a modern medical machine and medicines to the Katchang Health Clinic in the North Bank Region on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

At the presentation ceremony, Mr. Jerreh Sanno from Matina’s Foundation stated that the foundation has supported KatchangHealth Clinic with medicines and medical supplies for the past three years. He expressed a commitment to continue assisting the people of Katchang in health.

“The donated items today include medicines, machines, and monitors that can be used to scan pregnant women and control the spread of diseases, both in the hospital and the community. The monitor can show how the baby is positioned in the womb, as well as monitor the liver and heart,” Sannoexplained.

He urged the people of Katchang, both in The Gambia and abroad, to unite and work towards developing the village.

Awa Jallow, speaking on behalf of the women of the village, expressed gratitude to Mr. Jerreh Sanno and the foundation for their support. She noted that women in Katchang, especially pregnant women, now have easier access to healthcare, compared to the past when many had to travel five kilometersto reach the nearest health center.

Mr. Momodou Fatty, representing his brother, the Alkalo of Katchang, also thanked Mr. Jerreh Sanno and his foundation for their support. He encouraged the people of Katchang to take full responsibility for the clinic and commit to the village’s development.
