Three individuals—Mustapha Gibba, Momodou Sallah, and Momodou Jallow—appeared before Magistrate I.O. Njie at the Brikama Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. They face charges of theft, contrary to Section 255 of the Criminal Code Cap 10:01 Volume 3 of the Laws of The Gambia.
Prosecuting Sergeant M.L. Sallah, representing the Inspector General of Police, stated that on December 9, 2024, at Brikama Garage, the accused stole a Samsung A12 mobile phone valued at D10,500 from Sulayman Jatta, thereby committing an offense.
The three accused pleaded not guilty to the charges presented to them in court. The prosecutor requested an adjournment to secure witnesses for the case and did not object to the bail for the three accused persons.
The court granted the application, granting bail to the accused persons in the sum of D12,000 with one Gambian surety each, who shall depose to an affidavit of means, as well as their national Identity Documents to the Registrar of the Court. The matter was then adjourned to the 29th of January 2025
