Kissima Sanno and Edrisa Jarju (who is currently at large) were arraigned before Magistrate A. Fofana at the BrikamaMagistrate’s Court on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, on charges of drug trafficking, in violation of Section 43 (4) (e) of the Drug Control Act of 2005.
The indictment states that on or about April 14, 2024, at the Mandina Ba Police Checkpoint, Edrisa Jarju and KissimaSanno were found in possession of 30.2 kg of Cannabis Sativa, a prohibited drug, thereby committing an offense.
Kissima Sanno, who was present in court, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Prosecutor S. Camara, representing the Drug Law Enforcement Agency, requested an adjournment to provide the first accused, Edrisa Jarju, who is still at large, for the next hearing.
Trial Magistrate Fofana granted the request, remanding Kissima Sanno to Mile 11 Central Prison until January 21, 2025, which is the next adjournment date for the hearing.
