3 Appear in Court for Alleged Trespass, Assault and Stealing

Albert Sanyang, Pa Ebou Nyandu, and Momodou Salieu Jallow were arraigned on Tuesday before the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on charges of general trespass, assault, and theft.

The first count states that Albert Sanyang, Pa Ebou Nyandu, and Momodou Salieu Jallow conspired to commit an offense or to intimidate, insult, and annoy Oumie Sambou by unlawfully entering her house in Kololi in December of last year.

On the second count, the trio is accused of unlawfully assaulting Oumie Sambou by hitting her on the right side of her face and beating Rohey Bajan all over her body, causing them actual bodily harm.

The third count alleges that on December 22, 2024, Albert Sanyang, Pa Ebou Nyandu, and Momodou Salieu Jallow stoleD800 from Oumie Sambou.

They denied the charges.

Sergeant E.M Jallow, representing the Inspector General of Police, requested an adjournment for the commencement of full trial to commence and he did not oppose bail for the accused.

They were granted bail in the sum of D50,000 each, with the condition that they provide one Gambian surety, who must deposit a valid national identity card or passport to the court registrar and submit a sworn affidavit of means. The surety must also be over the age of 35.

The case is set to resume on 5 February 2025.
