In a show of solidarity, staff members of the country’s first GSM company Gamcel on Monday gathered at the company head office on Mamadi Maniang Highway to deliver a resounding message to the Gamcelmanagement, calling for enhanced staff welfare and service delivery.

Armed with a petition outlining their grievances and demands, the concerned staff members have drawn a line in the sand, insisting on immediate action from the management to address long-standing issues affecting their welfare and service delivery.

“Issues from delayed salary payments to lack of basic amenities, we have had enough,” declared one staff member, representing the collective voice of his colleagues.

The petition, signed by a multitude of concerned Gamcel staff, lays bare the challenges faced by employees, including deductions for credit union payments with no access, halted medical insurance, and inaccessible social security information.

“We demand transparency,” emphasized another staff member, highlighting the need for open communication and accountability within the company.

The petition also addresses concerns about poor working conditions, lack of maintenance, and insufficient investment in critical resources, all of which have weighed heavily on staff morale and service quality.

As the petition makes its way to the Gamtelmanagement, the staff made it clear that they will not rest until their demands are met.

“We will not be silenced,” affirmed a determined employee, echoing the sentiments of the entire workforce.

The urgency of the situation is underscored by the specific timelines set in the petition, signalling the staff’s unwavering resolve to see tangible change within the company.

The ball is now firmly in the court of the management, who are facing mounting pressure to address the concerns raised by the staff. The unity and determination displayed by the Gamcel employees serve as a potent reminder of the power of collective action and the importance of standing up for one’s rights. As the dust settles after this pivotal moment, all eyes are on the management to see how they will respond to the demands and expectations of their dedicated workforce
