An alleged burglar Edrisa Keita appeared before Magistrate Anna O. Mendy of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court onThursday to answer charges of burglary.
According to the charge sheet, Edrisa Keita on or about 14 January 2025, at Tanji village, wilfully and unlawfully entered the shop of one Mariama Bah with the intent to commit a felony: stealing.
He denied wrongdoing when the charges were read out to him.
Sgt. M.J Sallah, who represented the Inspector General of Police in the matter, applied for an adjournment to enable the prosecution call in its first witness. His application was granted and the case then adjourned to 3 February 2025.
To enable him gain his liberty as the case proceeds, Edrisawas given a D100,000 court bail with strings attached such as two Gambian sureties.
