Gambia’s Minister of Gender, Children and Social Welfare, Hon. Fatou Sanyang-Kinteh, made a compelling call for global support in protecting children’s rights during her address at the 98th Session of the Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) in Geneva. Minister Kinteh highlighted The Gambia’s unwavering commitment to upholding children’s rights, emphasizing that the welfare of children is a fundamental aspect of the nation’s values and culture.
In her speech, Minister Kinteh stressed the necessity of international cooperation to ensure the protection and empowerment of children. She articulated, “Our dedication to their welfare is deeply embedded in the fabric of our society,” which reflects the collective responsibility that nations share in safeguarding the rights of the most vulnerable members of society. The Minister urged development partners to bolster their support for The Gambia’s initiatives, particularly in critical areas such as education, healthcare, nutrition, and child protection.
