Career In-Depth is a youth-led organization that focuses on providing career guidance and mentorship for young people.
The organization targets school-going children with the overriding aim of shaping their future through career guidance.
The founder of the organization Omar M. Bah said during the launch at the Insight Training Center on Friday that Career In-Depth aims to empower young people by providing them with career guidance, mentorship, and practical resources to prepare for a successful professional future. He added that the organization aims to create a society of equal opportunity through access to tools and necessary support in order to bridge the gaps between education and employment.
The Chief Executive Officer of Gaye Nyorro, Fatou Saine-Gaye, in her remarks encouraged the students at the event to follow a career path that they are most suited for, stating that success requires “risk taking and focus on achieving the realities of life”.
“You must be bold enough to choose a career that you feel more comfortable and have believed that you can make something out of nothing. If you are passionate about something and have the confidence that you can achieve success in it, be there and focus on your dreams,” she advised.
Mben Faal, senior magistrate at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, told the attendees to follow the dictates of theirprofessions, calling on them to resist external influences with the potential of derailing them.
Medical doctor at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, Dr. Yankuba Jabbie echoed similar sentiments.
