Locally manufactured goods from The Gambia are currently partaking and being showcased at the ongoing FIKA International Trade Fair in Kaolack. In a significant show of what both nations can gain from trading with each other and removing restrictions to trade, The Confederation of Gambian Industries (CGI), in collaboration with the Senegalo/Gambian Network of Women Entrepreneurs, has successfully showcased products made in The Gambia.

This remarkable milestone according to Farimang Saho, the president of the Confederation of Gambian Industries (CGI) is all thanks to support from the Office of The President of The Gambia, who facilitated the transportation of locally manufactured goods across the Senegalese borders and provided complimentary transportation for staff CGMI via a van supplied it offered to the association.

“Our executive member, Mr. Alh Cherno Jallow, generously provided two trucks to deliver additional manufactured goods to the FIKA exhibition grounds. CGI has secured and financed a 40m² booth for our members and Women Entrepreneurs to trade and display their products.” Said an elated Saho

He also expressed his gratitude to the MAA Foundation and the Senegalo/Gambia Network of Women Entrepreneurs for offering accommodations and meals to some participants.

“We must continue to mobilize participation and collaboration for such events, allowing our goods to access the regional market. As the saying goes, “One step to one market is a giant leap toward numerous market opportunities. I am confident that we can achieve this through our collective efforts and partnerships,” he concluded.
