President Barrow Calls for Collaborative Approach to Drive Economic Growth

His Excellency President Adama Barrow emphasized the importance of socio-economic growth and development during his keynote address at the 17th FOGECA Economic Forum held at SDKJ International Conference Center. The President highlighted the critical role that economic progress plays in shaping the future of The Gambia and expressed the government’s commitment to fostering a robust economy through investment, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

President Barrow stated, “A collaborative approach is necessary to harness The Gambia’s potential and ensure that the benefits of economic development reach every corner of society. This forum represents a strategic pillar to pursue our national and regional aspirations, with its focus on trade, investment, and integration.”

He also announced the government’s plans to review GIEPA’s Statutory Act in order to enhance manufacturing and agricultural productivity. According to the president the initiative aims to create jobs and secure livelihood through competitive government support and incentives.

Commending the President of FOGECA, Mr. Ahmadou Diagne, and his team for choosing The Gambia as the host country for the forum, President Barrow highlighted the significance of the event which brought together national and international delegates, including the Vice President of Gabon.
