The Consumer Protection Consortium (CPC) has awarded Jah Oil Company for its exceptional responsiveness to the needs of the Gambian people, held at the company head office in Bafuloto, West Coast Region on Wednesday, February 5, 2025
Alpha Usman Jallow, president of the CPC, described the award as a recognition of a testament to Jah Oil Company’s unwavering commitment to providing essential commodities at affordable prices for all.
“The dedication displayed by Jah Oil is commendable. It has transformed the market and made vital products, such as rice, significantly more accessible to Gambians, reversing the high costs that once prevailed,” Jallow stated as he presented the award.
Pa Waka Jobe, Secretary General of CPC, described CPC, as a leading protector of consumer rights and interests, while he acknowledges Jah Oil Company as a standout commercial entity that has consistently dedicated itself to meeting the needs of Gambian consumers.
“The CPC will engage in strategic collaboration with Jah Oil Company to ensure consumer interests are prioritized. We expect nothing less than continued support from the company for Gambian consumers, especially with Ramadan approaching,” Secretary General Jobe emphasised.
In response, Mr. Mohammed Hydara, General Manager of Jah Oil Company, expressed gratitude on behalf of the management team for the prestigious award. He emphasized that they did not anticipate the recognition, it serves as a powerful motivator to elevate their efforts further.
“We are proud that our hard work is being recognized, and we remain firmly committed to ensuring that Gambians are served with high-quality and affordable commodities at all times,” Hydara declared.
