Kaddy Samateh Entertainment, in partnership with the Brikama Area Council (BAC), took decisive action on Tuesday by launching a comprehensive cleaning exercise at the Brikama market. This initiative is essential for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for all vendors and customers.
During the event, Cherno Jallow, the Councillor for Suba Ward and Vice Chairman of BAC, emphasized the critical need for collaboration with organizations to enhance our environment’s cleanliness.
He asserted, “A clean environment is vital for our health and well-being, which directly contributes to national development.” Jallow reaffirmed BAC’s commitment to ensuring cleanliness, making it clear that the council has a responsibility to manage waste in the market and deploy trucks to support cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
He commended KS Entertainment for its proactive approach, stating that the government and BAC cannot solve this problem alone.
Kaddy Samateh, Chief Executive Officer of KS Entertainment, underscored the vital importance of this cleaning exercise, asserting that it will enable vendors to operate without health concerns.
She called on market vendors to recognize the council’s efforts by actively using the dustbins and avoiding littering.
Participant Isatou Ceesay stated emphatically that this exercise is crucial in reinforcing the council’s commitment to a clean environment. She noted, “The market will only remain clean if the council effectively engages human resources.
The current lack of manpower dedicated to cleanliness needs urgent attention, and addressing it will lead to a substantial improvement.” Ceesay strongly urged the council to implement regular awareness campaigns to ensure sustained efforts towards cleanliness.
Another participant, Abdul Aziz Marena, pointed out that this cleaning initiative will actively shift community mindsets. He added that such exercises instill a strong sense of responsibility in preventing the spread of germs and maintaining a healthy environment.
