Ousainou Bojang who was accused of causing the untimely death of police constables Pateh Jallow, Sang J. Gomez and seriously wounded one Constable Ancy Jawo on Monday told the court that the seven eyewitnesses of the fatal shooting of three police officials, all denied seeing him at the crime scene.

In his continuation of defense on Monday before Justice Ebrima Jaiteh of Banjul High Court, Bojang affirmed to the court that when the police officers took him into the Sukuta Police Station, all the seven (7) eyewitnesses denied seeing him at Sukuta Traffic Light when they were asked to identify him.

According to Bojang Commissioner Ebou Sowe took his smart cellphone from his house and later gave it to one of his junior officers named Sowe who instructed him (Bojang) to delete his partner lock from the cellphone, adding that his smartphone was ”reset” by the police.

Defense lawyer Lamin J. Darboe at that juncture, applied for the court to order the state prosecution to produce all the seized properties of his client, adding that Bojang’s diary would help him to retrieve his Google account password and information that was saved in the cellphone.

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), AM Yusuf in his objection to the defense argued that the defense lawyer Darboe should have raised such an application earlier.

DPP Yusuf stated that the defense lawyer Darboe was delaying the proceedings but assured the court that the prosecution would produce the available seized properties of the accused person.

The trial Judge, Justice Jaiteh after hearing both parties issued an order for the Head of Banjulinding Anti-Crime unit to produce all seized properties of Bojang, adding that failure to adhere to the court order shall attract legal consequences.

Bojang, however, stated that the police should go out and look for the killer of police constables Pateh Jallow and Sang J. Gomez who seriously injured one Constable Ancy Jawo, affirming that his Whatsapp communication messages with his white girlfriend, Cathlene also confirmed that he had a problem with his girlfriend.

”I am not the killer of the PIU officials ”, Ousainou Bojang said.
