Seedy Njie Tells Electorate in Masembeh Ward to Snub UDP

By: Kemo Kanyi

Deputy spokesperson of the NPP and the deputy speaker of the National Assembly, Seedy S.K Njie, has called on the electorate in the Masembeh Ward to ignore the UDP and vote for the ruling National People’s Party, saying UDP is playing a swindle game with Gambians.

Speaking in Kabada on Thursday, February 20, 2025, Hon. Njie stated that the UDP militants and its leadership are always accusing the President of mismanaging public funds, stating that he [the President] is constructing roads in the rural areas. He added that the UDP is referring to the road developments in Kabada, URR and other rural communities.

“The UDP, Ousainou Darboe, and Talib Bensouda are saying this. If they are complaining about this road infrastructure, they are insulting us [Gambians]. This is, in fact, a very big insult to Gambians, but they can turn back to us and canvas for our votes. They are telling you that Adama Barrow is destroying the country… He is buying expensive cars. Do we need roads, access to safe and clean drinking water, and electricity or not?” Hon. Njie rhetorically asked.

He stated that Talib Bensouda said the President owns hundreds of very expensive cars, stating that at that moment when Bensouda was saying that, the car he travelled with to Kiang is worth over seven million dalasi, stating that the KMC mayor has misappropriated millions of taxpayers’ money in his tenure.

“He had misappropriated over one hundred million dalasi. The area councils are the most corrupt institution in history of The Gambia. Talib Bensouda has not even constructed two meters of roads in his municipality,” said the deputy House speaker.

He urged the people of Kiang Kabada to massively vote for the NPP candidate, emphasizing that NPP is the party that Gambians should trust not the United Democratic Party.
