The Lamin Village Development Committee (VDC) in partnership with Menmar Sporting Academy (MSA) laid the foundation stone of a multi-purpose sporting facility for the youth of Lamin Community and beyond on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Lamin Village West Coast Region.
Chairman of the Lamin VDC Jammeh Bojang hails the collaboration between the community and its partner, Menmar Football Academy, noting that the project will enhance the development of youth and also will enhance the health Status of the people of Lamin.
He also calls on all and Sundry to work towards protecting the facilities.
Lamin Kanteh CEO of MENMAR Football Academy stated that he would be happy to see the dream of the West Coast Regional Football Association come through this project.
“We went around the country to find a land. We have taken it upon ourselves to have our academy across all regions in the country, three months ago, we started an academy in CRR.
This will be an exemplary project that Gambians can look up to for the interest of sports in The Gambia.
We will standardize the facility by providing good quality for it to be the best sporting facility in the county.
We conceived the idea ten years ago to build such a facility- football, basketball, volleyball, and swimming ” he highlighted.
Sanna Ceesay president of Lamin Sport Committee assures that his committee will protect the facility to serve its purpose.
Bakary Bojang the president of the West Coast Regional Football Association also assures an open-door policy for the project implementation team for the realization of the dream.
The facility is expected to have a football field (FIFA standard), tracks for athletes, a drainage system, a basketball lounge, dressing rooms, and toilets.
