In a remarkable recognition of academic and research excellence, Dr. Foday Joof, a distinguished economist and sustainable finance specialist, has been ranked 1st among researchers at the Central Bank of The Gambia, 2nd among all social science researchers in The Gambia—which includes fields such as Economics, Econometrics, and Finance—and 15th overall among the country’s top 100 scientists, according to the latest International AD Scientific Index rankings.
The AD Scientific Index is a globally recognized ranking system that evaluates researchers based on their scholarly output, citation impact, and contributions to their respective fields.
Dr. Joof’s achievements underscore his significant contributions to financial stability, climate-related financial risks, and the broader field of sustainable finance.
Further, cementing his reputation as a leading scholar, Dr. Joof recently won the Best Paper Award at the Casablanca 2024 Climate Leadership Forum for his groundbreaking research titled “In Search of Safe Haven: Responsible Investments and Conventional Markets.”
The paper explores the role of responsible and ethical investments in mitigating financial risks and fostering sustainable economic growth, a subject of increasing global relevance.
With over 40 publications in reputable journals and extensive expertise in financial econometrics, Dr. Joof continues to play a pivotal role in advancing economic research and policy in The Gambia and beyond.
