As inhabitants continued to rejoice, the Alkalo of Kerr Selleh in Jokadou praised the government, particularly the Ministry of Water Resources and Fisheries, for supplying drinking water to the community.
Alhaji Omar Ndow expressed his appreciation during an interview with this reporter in Kerr Selleh on Monday and shared his views on the government’s efforts to provide accessible portable water to the community and enhance electricity services.
The Alkalo thanked the government for providing clean water, which has significantly contributed to the living standard of the inhabitants of Kerr Selleh village in terms of good health and well-being. He emphasized that access to clean water is vital for maintaining good health for both, humans and animals.
He also acknowledged the community’s dedication to timely tax payments to the Kerewan Area Council, which he credited as a positive step towards civic responsibility.
Turning to the electricity expansion project, the Alkalo described it as an unprecedented initiative that will bring about significant changes. He believes that the expansion will promote local businesses, improve security, and enhance the community’s overall transformation, particularly with the installation of the street lights.
The Alkalo took the opportunity to commend Chief Alpha Mariam Khan of Jokadou for his leadership in fostering peace and security through community policing. He stressed that this initiative has been instrumental in promoting social cohesion and enhancing the safety of the community.
In addition to the aforementioned, Alhaji Omar Ndow expressed gratitude for the public toilet facility provided by the Ministry of Water Resources, which aims to improve sanitation and overall public health in the area.
