The Child Protection Alliance (CPA), with funding from UNICEF and support from TANGO, recently conducted a two-day training for community stakeholders in Kerewan, North Bank Region.
The training aimed to enhance understanding of the Children Act, case management, and reporting procedures to better protect child rights.
Ebrima Darboe, CPA’s Communication and Advocacy Officer, emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, urging communities and parents to foster strong moral values in children and effectively manage cases of abuse.
Alasan Sanneh, Regional Social Welfare Officer, outlined the essential steps in case management and stressed the importance of confidentiality and documentation. Local community members shared both challenges and successes in child protection initiatives, highlighting the need for increased government funding and support for vulnerable children.
