Justice Ebrima Jaiteh of Banjul High Court in Banjul, on Monday admitted into evidence three pictures of Osainou Bojang, accused of killing two police officers and wounding the third person sometime in September 2023.

Testifying under cross-examination, Bojang denied knowing that police investigators took pictures at his house in Brufut Village.

However, when the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), AM Yusuf showed Bojang one of his pictures on ‘’halftan’’, he wasted no time to agree, stating that the picture was taken in his house.

At that juncture DPP Yusuf applied to the court for the picture to be admitted and marked as exhibit.

Defense lawyer Lamin J. Darboe objected to the tendering of the picture, arguing   that the prosecution was ordered by the court to produce all seized properties of his client to him.

In his reservation to the tendering of the picture, defence lawyer Darboe argued that   DPP Yusuf’s refusal to show him the picture in question, as he claimed such, was an ambush against him.

“On the principle of fairness, the court should reject the application of the prosecution’’, defence lawyer Darboe appealed to the court.

Justice Jaiteh overruled the objection raised by defence lawyer Darboe, stating that the application of the state was meant to boost its evidence against Bojang.

Justice Jaiteh also cited that the DPP affirmed showing the seized properties of Bojang to the defence.

Meanwhile, the court also admitted two pictures a white and combat shoes, into evidence as exhibit p31 and 32 respectively.

The court confirmed that exhibit D26 fits Bojang and concluded that the accused Bojang owned it.
