Seedy S.K. Njie, the deputy spokesperson of the ruling National People’s Party (NPP), said President Adama Barrow has completely transformed the living standard of every Gambian citizen through his all-inclusive development initiatives across the country.

Speaking at a cross-carpeting ceremony at Brufut, the deputy speaker of the National Assembly stated that the development registered by The Gambia under the leadership of President Barrow is by a large degree better than development realized during the former regimes.

“If you visit any community in the country—hamlets, villages or towns are all enjoying the connectivity of good roads, availability of clean drinking water, health care centres and access to uninterrupted electricity supply. These have strengthened the economic muscles of residents, especially women in these areas by establishing roadside businesses, preservation of perishable goods using electricity, and improve their health status. The essence of governance is to improve the economic emancipation of the people. The importance of paying taxes is to return the benefits to taxpayers and President Barrow has done that for Gambians. By end of 2025, the country will achieve universal access to electricity. The President has promised that and already the signs are highly visible in that reality. These things have never been possible under President Jawara and Jammeh regimes,” Seedy Njie cited in a ceremony on Sunday.

Njie urged the crowd to put the interest of the nation ahead of personal gains, adding that it’s the way to develop and maintain the sovereignty of a nation.

He maintained that President Barrow made his development agendas possible because he only promised within his action plans.

“The President does not promise to fulfil projects in the next ten or fifteen years to come. Instead, he only gives promises within the context of his ability—when he already plans to deliver projects according to an already available funding on the table. He came here [Brufut] and promised that he was going to construct your road which he had now delivered—promise made, promise fulfilled,” he added.

He urged the people of Brufut and Sanimentereng to support the President in his bid to retain the presidency in 2026 presidential election.
