M&I Organic Soil Solutions Donates Eco-Fertilizer and Cashew Trees to Charles Jaw School

In a generous gesture aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture and environmental awareness, EcoSoil and Shelter for Life International partnered to donate cashew trees and organic fertilizer to Charles Jow School in Bundung.

The handover ceremony, held under the scorching sun, witnessed enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders.

Amina Sonko, head of administration and marketing at Ecosoil Africa kicked off the event by highlighting the significance of trees in promoting environmental harmony and sustainable farming practices. The donation, sponsored by Seltzer for Life and EcoSoil Africa, aims to encourage the adoption of EcoSoil farming techniques at the school level. The donation includes high-quality EcoSoil fertilizer and special high-yield cashew trees, sourced from Vietnam.

Louie Sylva, representing Shelter for Life International, emphasized the importance of organic farming practices and the need to steer clear of harmful chemicals in agriculture.

The partnership between Shelter for Life and EcoSoil focuses on expanding organic fertilizer production to improve coastal production in the region.

The school principal, Mr. Kebba Tamba, expressed his gratitude for the generous donation of cashew trees and organic fertilizer, noting that it would greatly benefit the school and students. He emphasized the importance of instilling environmental awareness and sustainable farming practices in the students, highlighting the long-term benefits of such initiatives.

Keen on ensuring the successful nurturing of the donated trees, Abdoulie Dumbuya, marketing manager of Ecosoil, demonstrated how to plant and care for the cashew trees, emphasizing the unique origin of the trees from Vietnam. He highlighted the importance of monitoring the progress of the trees and ensuring their proper care to maximize their benefits.

The donation of cashew trees and organic fertilizer by EcoSoil and Shelter for Life International marks a significant step towards promoting environmental sustainability and agricultural practices at Charles Jaw School. The event showcased the commitment of both organizations to supporting schools in generating income through agroforestry and promoting eco-friendly farming practices.
