Residents of Tawakaltu applaud Jamsai Foundation

Residents of the Tawakaltu community in Lower Badibou have recently lauded the humanitarian gestures of the Jamsai Foundation of Kotu which provided them with some essential personal items such as clothing, shoes, and so on for women, girls, and boys in the community.

Alhaji Amadou Sarge, the Alkalo of the Tawakaltu community thanked the foundation for this gesture saying distribution of those items to support needy families in the community enhances cordiality.

On behalf of the community, he thanked the donor for the construction of a mosque for the community while appealing to the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council, charitable and humanitarian organizations, and individuals to come to their aid for the completion of the mosque as the mosque needs praying mats, public system address (microphones, speakers, and accessories), installation solar panel system, ceiling fans, painting of the mosque with some other befitting items for the mosque.

Ndey Faye, a women’s leader thanked Jamsai Foundation for the support and seeks other items from other donors to enhance their agricultural productivity.

Nasu Camara, an elderly woman in her 70s, and Yugo Jawo Imam from Ndey Kumba Ya of Lower Badibou renewed their call to charitable organizations and the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council to support their village with a mosque, as dwellers travel 3 to 4 kilometers to attend Friday prayers.

The duo noted that the availability of a mosque would greatly strengthen religious faith and encourage more to attend congregational prayers.

Demba Sanyang a member of the foundation presented items to beneficiaries on behalf of the Jamsai Foundation. He said the move aimed at promoting the teaching of Islam by caring and sharing with the needy. He assured of the Foundation’s continued support and reiterated the need for individuals and humanitarian organizations to partner with the foundation in its quest to respond and serve humanity.
