The Permanent Secretary (PS) of the Civil Service Reform and Planning Unit (CSRPU) under the Ministry of Public Service (MoPS) has described the recently-concluded National Policy Formulation Handbook 2025 a success.

PS Sheriff Jallow spoke on Wednesday, March 11, 2025, as he presided over the official closing ceremony after the three-day validation workshop of the Handbook, which he conducted on behalf of the Minister of Public Service, Hon. Baboucarr Bouy, at Sindola Safari Hotel, Kanilai, West Coast Region.

According to PS Jallow, the training was successful, adding that all participants thoroughly read the document to their fingertips and it was one of the highest qualities when it comes to attendance and participation during the session.

He accordingly urged participants to be proud of themselves because the inputs they added to the document would solve a big problem for The Gambia Government.

He revealed that the National Policy Formulation Handbook 2025 was prepared by the Ministry of Public Service through the Department of Strategic Policy and Delivery (DSPD) but meant for all Government institutions.

Individually, he said, they are all important, but what they can do collectively will be more meaningful, because they share the same objective which is to serve citizens to ensure the services they deliver to them (citizens) are of the highest quality.

“If the document is approved at the level of the cabinet, you (participants) should serve as champions of its implementation within your sectors because you know what the document entails and what it can do for us as a country.

“Government is big in the sense that all civil servants cannot converge here in Sindola Safari Lodge to validate this important document, thus the main reason few of you were selected to validate the document on behalf of Government sectors,” he disclosed.
