Minister Bouy visits PACD Project Site

The Minister of Public Service on Monday May 13, 2025 commence a four-day visit to Programme for Accelerated Community Development (PACD) project intervention sites across the country.

Public Service Minister Bouy and delegation first visit was on Sunday April 13, 2025 at Kerr Wally where they saw for themselves the tractor provided to the community by PACD project, Touba Kolong electricity project, Yonna Angalleh and Kolli Kunda combined coos milling machine project and Kerr Jaine borehole project all in the North Bank Region.

Day two of their visit will take them to Jimbala Ali Hincha combined where they will visit combined coos milling and threshing machine project at Kerr Ousman Busso tractor project, Lamin Koto and Jangjangbureh borehole project all in the Central River Region north.

In day three of their visit, the team will proceed to Sandou Misera combined Coos milling machine and Mureh Kunda borehole project, Manakoto Foday/ Manakoto Keita, Song Kunda water project, Song Kunda and Kumbija milling machine and Coose threshing machine project all in the Upper River Region.

Day four of Minister Bouy and team will be at Kwinella Nyakunda rice milling machine project in the Lower River Region and the team will finally head to Darsilmeh Sanghajor and Mayork where they are to visit the rice and Coos threshing machines project.

Minister Bouy’s delegation includes Madam Sabelle Tschan – UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in The Gambia, Deputy Chief of Staff and Head of DSPD, Mr. Alieu Loum, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Public Service, Pateh Jah and Director, Delivery, Mr. Amet Sallah.

The Programme for Accelerated Community Development (PACD) in The Gambia aims to improve the living conditions of people in rural areas by addressing poverty and inequality through the provision of basic socio-economic infrastructure and services, with a focus on underserved communities.

Five regions across The Gambia are benefitting from the implementation of the project namely: North Bank Region (NBR), Central River Region (CRR), Upper River Region (URR), Lower River Region (LRR) and West Coast Region (WCR).

The Programme for Accelerated Community Development (PACD) is funded by Government and implemented by the UNDP.
