Lady Sarjo Mballow-Barrow, the second wife of President Adama Barrow, has called on Gambians to continue supporting the president’s development agenda, urging citizens not to replace him with any opposition leader in the upcoming 2026 presidential election.
She made this appeal during the official launch of her fan club, the Lady Sarjo Mballow-Barrow Fans Club, held on Saturday at Sukuta Junction. According to Madam Mballow-Barrow, the fan club will be expanded to all regions of the country to mobilize support, promoting President Barrow’s development initiatives, and empowering women nationwide.
“Gambians should now understand the president better,” she said. “Citizens across the country are seeing and feeling the development projects he is implementing in various regions. He is doing what Gambians have long yearned for.”
Lady Barrow encouraged women in particular to rally behind the president, praising him for what she described as a commitment to national development and service delivery. She emphasized that President Barrow has returned the benefits of taxpayers’ money through visible infrastructural and social development projects.
“So, I am advising you [Gambians], empower the president and never substitute him with anyone,” she stated. “The 2026 election is approaching, and I plead with all citizens to vote for President Barrow because he is someone the majority of Gambians trust.”
She also took the opportunity to extend a call for unity, urging opposition parties to come together in support of the president’s development agenda.
“I am extending my call to the opposition to also come on board and support the president’s development cause,” she added.
Madam Mballow-Barrow expressed heartfelt appreciation to her husband, President Barrow, stating that the successful launch of the fan club would not have been possible without his support and leadership.
The fan club, she noted, will not only serve as a platform to champion the president’s work but also foster political awareness and participation among women. She highlighted that women’s involvement in politics and national development is key to sustaining the country’s progress.
The event was attended by political supporters, community members, and regional representatives who expressed their enthusiasm for the initiative.
